Project summary:
The project aims to create sustainable mechanisms for improving the condition and opportunities of people living in marginalized Roma communities through effective integrated approaches, increasing access of Roma and other vulnerable groups to better services in the following sectors: social assistance, education, employment and health. The implementation of the project activities will create a sustainable coordination mechanism between the target community, local government and regional units of the institutions in the Municipality of Sungurlare and the Municipality of Antonovo. The goals of the project are: 1) Enhancing the access of Roma and other vulnerable groups living in segregated communities in the Sungurlare and Antonovo municipalities who are facing extreme poverty and exclusion, to better services in the following sectors: social assistance, education, employment and health. Introduction of a comprehensive approach aimed at improving the situation of end-users, where at least 2 types of services are provided to the same person in the following sectors: social assistance, education, employment and healthcare, depending on his needs; 2) Empowering Roma communities, including Roma women and young people, in order to actively participate in decision-making processes affecting their lives, empowering them as well as at the individual level (skills, knowledge, self-confidence and increasing access to equal rights) opportunities for personal development) and at the collective level (ability to organize and mobilize to participate in solving community problems), to participate, negotiate, influence and hold institutions accountable for setting out and implementation of policies that affect their lives; 3) Opposition to all forms of discrimination and negative attitudes against the Roma population. Respecting the rights of the Roma, combating discrimination, stereotypes and harassment, and helping to raise the awareness of the majority and minority communities about respect for ethnic diversity.

Some of the planned activities are: 1) Formal and non-formal educational activities and measures for young people and adults of Roma origin and representatives of other vulnerable groups living in hard-to-reach and/or segregated communities with difficult or unequal access to services; 2) Support for non-formal education and modern personal development programs; 3) Provision of integrated services; 4) Expanding the capacity of local institutions in Sungurlare and Antonovo municipalities and the partner Integra; 4) Expanding the capacity of local institutions in the municipalities of Sungurlare and Antonovo and the partner Integra; 5) Empowerment of the Roma; 6) Access to employment; 7) Infrastructure and repairs; 8) Non-discrimination activities.
