Project summary:
The project foresees the provision of a modern and efficient culture infrastructure meeting the high standards of the Council of Europe for youth work and providing quality, varied and complex services in support of the development of the youth sector.

Burgas Municipality has chosen a territory in the largest and most densely populated area Meden Rudnik, for the construction of a Youth Center. The terrain is located close to a central International street artery, main public transport lines and a school. The newly constructed building will consist mainly of one ground floor with two additional smaller floors providing accommodation and recreation services. The center is planned to have separate rooms intended for holding conferences, seminars, meetings and non-formal educational activities, including those with an international scope.

The Center’s activity will be aimed at supporting and improving the quality of life of young people aged between 15-29 years by conducting informal cultural and educational activities. The services provided by it will be accessible to all young people, including representatives of low-income families, people with disabilities, ethnic minority youths, as well as those living in small and remote settlements around the city of Burgas. By the project implementation, Burgas Municipality will offer quality services to young people in accordance with their needs; encourage their activity and creativity; contribute to their personal development and growth; and improve international youth cooperation.

The main objective is to improve the quality of life of young people on the territory of Burgas, including those at risk and socially disadvantaged, through the construction of an international youth center meeting the high standards of the Council of Europe for youth work and providing quality, varied and complex services for the youth sector.

Specific objectives: To create appropriate conditions of an informal environment, infrastructure and capacity building for providing contemporary, innovative, culture and educational activities and for establishing an educational partnership between young people and professionals who meet the needs of the youth sector in the Burgas region; To provide opportunities for non-formal education in the areas of democratic values, human rights, youth participation and young people social rights, including those from vulnerable groups, by establishing a local model of an active and dynamic youth society in the region; To provide educational support to young people who are still in formal education, who have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out; To promote national and international cooperation and exchange of good practice within the youth sector between YCs and the stakeholders.
