Project summary:
The project covers a wide range of activities leading to widening the scope of the youth center. It creates equal opportunities for inclusion of children and young people, including those from vulnerable groups. Both traditional methods and innovative techniques are used to meet the current needs of the target groups. Information and publicity activities are planned for the widest dissemination of information on the funding and objectives of the EEA FM and the opportunities for participation of target groups in the project. The Center will host non-formal educational trainings, coordination meetings, educational courses, new club forms, school for parents, workshops, regional, national and international youth exchanges. Field work, meetings with representatives of vulnerable groups and disadvantaged areas are envisaged. A series of initiatives are planned in Dobrich and the region. The project provides opportunities for youth participation, implementation of youth initiatives, youth camps and exchanges. In cooperation with the partner from the donor state, Iceland will be implemented 2 international exchanges to share experiences in Kopavogur and Dobrich. The Bulgarian partners will be active participants in the project activities and initiators of youth initiatives. To improve the quality and widening the scope of the services provided, construction works activities and delivery of equipment and furniture are envisaged. It is also planned to set up a Free Zone for promoting physical activity and motor skills in the adjacent area of the center. To offer flexible and affordable activities with a wide range, a minibus is envisaged to purchase. Employment will be provided for 5 youth workers and 2 educational mediators. All activities will meet the needs of target groups and standards of work of the Council of Europe.
Overall objective: To widen the territorial scope of the YC and improve the quality and diversity of activities, increase the number of young people and participants of different ages in the activities of the Center, in response to the needs and aspirations of young people and representatives from the community, including those from the vulnerable groups (groups at higher risk of poverty and social exclusion than the general population, such as ethnic minorities, disabled people, drop-outs from school, orphaned, children and youth coming from families with one parent, children and youth coming from families with low level of education, or struggling with substance abuse, unemployed). Specific objectives: To widen the territorial scope of the YC by field work and providing a bigger variety of activities to reach children and young people living in a remote and small locations within the district and without access to such services; To increase the number of services offered in response to the identified needs of young people in the area. In this way, the diversity of the activities offered by the center will increase the opportunity for more children and young people to participate in them, incl. those from vulnerable groups; To encourage the active youth participation and increase the number of activities organized at the initiative of young people. This will bring young people into society by offering them tools and opportunities to be influenced as active citizens; Involve people from different age groups as a measure to reach and more effectively work with the youth community; To create an inclusive and safe environment in the center, creating an attitude of mutual respect each other and tolerance to difference; Improve the quality of existing services and activities, which will create an inspiring environment for the development of social, educational and cultural activities through appropriate spaces and facilitated interaction between representatives of different groups; Intercultural dialogue and sharing of good practices; Mobility, flexibility and improved access to services.
