Bridging the gap between Roma youth and business – unlocking the hidden potential for the labor market

The notion that Roma do not work has long been disproved by the trends in the labor market in Bulgaria. The data for this is there: between 2011 and 2019, the share of working Roma has doubled. This is shown by a nationally representative study from 2019 ocommissioned by the Trust for a Social Achievement, dedicated to educational achievements in the Roma community.

Project: “Fair chances for better future for Roma in Sungurlare and Antonovo municipalities”

The project aims to create sustainable mechanisms for improving the condition and opportunities of people living in marginalized Roma communities through effective integrated approaches, increasing access of Roma and other vulnerable groups to better services in the following sectors: social assistance, education, employment and health.

Project: “Integrated measures in support of Roma inclusion in the municipality of Dupnitsa”

The project is aimed at Roma living on the territory of the four Roma neighborhoods in the municipality of Dupnitsa, numbering 5,100 people. Among ethnic minorities and especially among the Roma population, there are various factors that feed poverty – early school leaving, low education, long-term unemployment and lack of work habits, limited employment opportunities, poor living conditions, lack of access to health, social and social services. and educational services.
