Project: “Motivated teachers – successful students”

This project was designed to support emotionally, mentally and methodologically those who work with students on a daily basis. To give them a sense that what they do is valued, that they have the tools to cope with difficult situations, and that they can be supported in difficult times.

Project:”Knowledge of Human Rights”

The project envisages activities to raise the awareness of young people/school students, teachers and the media about human rights followed by youth campaigns, debates and social media campaigns carried out based on the knowledge acquired.

Project “Mentoring for inclusion”

The educational boarding school “Hristo Botev” is the only specialized educational institution for girls in the country, accommodated under the Law on antisocial behaviour of minors. Both the teachers and educators there are trying to overcome the social stigma on the girls who are housed there.

Project: “Project Generation Facility”

The Project Generation Facility (PGF) is a special facility of the Open Society Institute – Sofia for supporting CSOs which work on equal Roma inclusion to develop integration projects, access financing and effectively implement them with resources provided by available financing programmes.

Project “Social and legal action to combat honor related abuse”

The Bulgarian legislation does not have a definition of honour abuse or violence and a data collection system which leads to impunity for offenders and inadequate protection for victims. The project sets out to carry out a national representative study of the issue among the various ethnic groups of Roma, Jews, Turks and Bulgarian as well as among asylum seekers who have been granted international protection, drawing comparison with the situation and good practices from Norway, analyse Bulgarians’ awareness and attitude to the issue, develop and submit to the public institutions recommendations for changes to the policies and legislation to prevent and solve such cases effectively.
